Ultra-modern, rapidly expanding Dubai is an exciting feast for the senses. Kids will love this high-octane destination in the United Arab Emirates for its multitude of activities, while the grown-ups enjoy the extensive shopping malls and luxury hotels.
The first thing you’ll notice upon landing is the heat. Escape its intensity by making the most of the Aquaventure Water Park at Atlantis the Palm, Wild Wadi Water Park and the Al Mamzar Beach Park for smaller children. There is also plenty of fun to be had indoors, including Ski Dubai, the world’s largest indoor snow park.
At night, stand in the foreground of the astonishing Burj Khalifa to watch the water fountain and light show. The skyscraper is more than 800 metres in height, making it the tallest building in the world.
If you want a taste of Dubai’s history and culture, dive headfirst into one of its spice or gold souks. Al Fahidi Cultural Neighbourhood is a great excursion for inquisitive teens and primary schoolers, as are dune-bashing and camel riding.
