Hayman Island Cooking & Etiquette Classes

Cooking skills for little masters

TK – says do something different these school holidays!
Imagine going on a fabulous island holiday with your parents and coming as a mini version of MasterChef. That’s what you can expect if you book a holiday to Hayman Island and enrol in their two fabulous Cooking Skills and Etiquette Classes.

As the face of Travel With Kidz, part of TK’ s role is recommending fun and safe family holidays and top of his list are the Cooking Class and Etiquette Class at Hayman Island. Each unique 90 minute class covers everything from preparing nutritional food to setting the table and knowing how to serve and eat it with style. Wendy Buckley, Managing Director of Travel with Kidz said, "We couldn’t resist, particularly with all the interest and excitement around food preparation that has been caused by programs such as MasterChef, and My Kitchen Rules. We wanted to offer something that would give children a wonderful introduction to the art of food preparation and of course the social skills that an etiquette class such as this would teach them.

The Cooking Class is under the supervision of Executive Chef Glenn Bacon who introduces the children to the secrets of a world class kitchen. Not only do they learn to prepare food, but the Etiquette Classes teaches them everything they need to know about table manners. The 90 minute Etiquette Class begins with the young ladies and gentlemen arriving at La Fontaine Restaurant where they are greeted with sparkling organic apple juice in Riedel glasses by our etiquette host. After an introduction by one of Hayman’s Master Chefs, these special guests are escorted to the Private Dining Room that is exquisitely set in La Fontaine’s silver. The host then delivers a presentation on the finer points of etiquette followed by a gueridon service of crepe suzette.

The afternoon is completed with a tour of Hayman’s Main Kitchen include a visit to our famous Hayman Chocolate Room.

"We are thrilled with the response we are seeing from our clients." said Wendy Buckley, "We encourage parents to take advantage of these school holidays and book their holiday to Hayman Island and secure their child’s place in the class."
