Family Friendly Adventure Tours

Travel With Kidz in conjunction with World Expeditions has put together a collection of family friendly adventure tours for families yearning for more than the “typical family holiday”. Your Travel With Kidz consultant will liaise closely with you to work out the most suitable itinerary, a safe and sensible level of ‘adventure’, what to expect and what you’ll need to take with you.  World Expeditions is Australia’s only independent and Australian owned international adventure travel wholesaler who has over 20 years in designing family friendly tailored itineraries.  

 

The first question you need to ask is if you wish to join a family group adventure departure or enjoy the flexibility of creating your own private tour. The second question is where do you want to discover.

 Family Group Adventures
These adventures are designed for adventure seeking families and are manicured with the younger traveller in mind. Here you can travel with other families and let your kids share their experiences with their new found friends. The minimum age is generally 10-12 years. The pace of these itineraries is slower, with more time to relax.  However the emphasis is still very much about undertaking a physical activity, whether it be trekking, cycling or exploring.

Fiji Reef Experience

Fiji Reef Experience and Snorkelling Adventure

A highlight of our stay at Jean Michel Cousteau Fiji Island Resort (JMCFIR) was snorkelling on the reef. These small groups trips leave from the island and travel approximately 30 minutes to the fringing reef.  The waters are crystal clear, and the glass bottom boat provides a great view into the depths.

On these trips, each child is accompanied by their Nanny, providing a 1:1 staff to child ratio that ensures safety and enjoyment for the children. With this level of attention, all of the children overcame their shyness and reservations, and soon were snorkelling and exploring the reef.

Johnny is the resort’s marine biologist. His position is unique amongst the Fiji resorts, and provides a great insight for curious young minds into the ecology of the reef. At the end of the trip he brought up a number of examples of coral and sea slugs for the children to hold, smell and get to know.  I think they enjoyed “releasing” these animals back into the wild as much as anything.

While snorkelling and reefs can be found all over Fiji, the care, attention to safety and the depth of knowledge at JMCFIR really makes this Fiji experience stand out as a memory of a lifetime for our family.

Maria Island Walk Tasmania

I’m Jack from Cairns & over the Easter School Holiday I was lucky enough to go on the Maria Island Walk.

I wan’t sure what to expect as this was something my parents wanted to do… and I thought here we go, another wine drinking holiday.  But my mind was soon changed when I first laid eye’s on Maria Island from the boat as we arrived.

We stayed in great camp sights, ate great food, saw so much wildlife and had long clean stretches of  beach to ourselves.

The wildlife was at our fingertips, we got to see wombats close up, kangaroo’s, native geese & other birds.

The food was fantastic and made from fresh local produce, we also got to eat bush tucker on our walking trails.

The highlight for me was walking to the peak of Bishop and Clerk  and seeing the view from the top.

I feel privileged to have seen such a breathtaking part of the world that very few have ventured to and would love to go back some day.

Travel With Kidz is like a child to me. It has been part of my life since the launch in our travel agency in Mosman, in 1995, and like any parent I have watched over my family on a daily basis. Today, marks a milestone in the growth of TWK. We are pleased to announce the launch of our all new travel brochure for 2011 – THE WORLD OF TRAVEL WITH KIDZ. We specialise in family holidays worldwide and this brochure is only a taste of the world we can help you discover.
